Well, after a month or so of research, and another few weeks of preparation, the proposal has been carried out and she said Yes!
The ring was a 1.33c Round G VS2 set in their Tiffany's solitaire replica (plat). I didn't ask for her preferences since I wanted to keep everything a surprise, and thankfully she loves the ring.
I ended up heading to a fancy restaurant in Pasadena called the Dining Room where they were nice enough to bring out the ring as the first course of a nice meal. She was kind of sitting there wondering why they would serve food inside a little ring box, but was soon crying when she realized what was going on.
The first shot is from the restaurant - tried to touch it up with Picasa for contrast and color.
The second shot is from the appraiser. Still trying to get the knack of taking these close up shots!
Thanks everyone for the advice, and answering my many questions before I made the purchase!
