Over the weekend I decided to purchase Excel/Superbcert's Tiffany Channel Set Replica engagement ring along with an AGS 1.71 G VS2 (which I will link below). After an exhaustive search I settled on Excel as they seemed to be very reputable and have what I believed at the time of purchase to be the best replica of Tiffany's ring.
I work in the textile industry which requires that I look at color and detail all day, and consequently I tend to notice subtle details almost immediately. True to form I continued to look at reviews even after I purchased and I'm am beginning to find photos of Excel's ring that seem to show several different iterations over the years. My concern lies in several areas: first, that the prongs may be too heavy and straight in nature. Second, does the basket sit too low for the channel set wedding band I'm planning to purchase to sit reasonably close/flush to the engagement ring (is it at least near the same height as the real Tiffany version). Third, I've selected the .80 carat side stones over the .35. Are these too large for the size of the center stone?
I've been searching and waiting a long time for this moment, and I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to these sort of things, so I'm looking for honest opinions, not necessarily reassurance. However if reassurance is warranted I will certainly be happy to receive it!
I'm seriously stressed, and would obviously like to be in touch with Barry and Judah ASAP if I need to make a change. Please help!!
Here is the ring I purchased (platinum, .80 carat weight side stones):
