Examples of 10-20 pointer princess cut channel bands?

Hi All,

I am considering a 3/4 channel band set with princess cut 10, 15, or 20 pointers (probably 15 or 20) in lieu of the normal e-ring +wb. It seems to make more sense considering how active I am. Does anyone have pictures, in particular hand-shots, of such bands? Just to put things in perspective, my finger size is 5.5., but I would probably get a 5 3/4 size band. Also, if I am looking at VS2/SI1, G-H color diamonds, what would be a rough price estimate? I have heard IDJewelry has pretty good deals, but does anybody have other recommendations?

I don't know if I would go so large with channel set stones. Here is one with 15 pointers that is by a reputable company with good pricing and quality diamonds:

That one is perfect! I thought you had posted one where the diamonds went all the way around, but I could be very happy with that one. Is there a reason why people don't go past 15 points with channel set rings? Is the thickness a problem, perhaps? I was also considering IDjewelry. And Allurez. I noticed that the round diamonds tend to be more popular in channel setting. Are they that much more brilliant than princess cut diamonds?

I think the quality of the setting will be better with the factes one, or by some other companies known for making high quality mounts, than with IDJ who tend to use stock casts, but you would need to see it in person to decide.

I think people don't go bigger in channel settings because of the thickness and weight of the metal.

Rounds and princess look similar at those sizes. Can you go see some in person?

I don't like the round ones very much. I was test-driving a 1.5 ct round channel set (a little past the half way mark with eleven .136 pointers), and I got used to the thickness of the band, but I didn't like that the diamonds were not flush (and had visible carbon spots). I also like the idea of having a custom alloy like MM of 90 platinum/10 irridium. I can't understand why other jewelers don't do this. I have narrowed it down to either Facets or Blue Nile. I don't think I would trust going anywhere else, and local jewelers seems to have higher prices than both those online stores. Thanks for your help! I am going to go to the jeweler this week to try on some princess cut channels, but I am pretty certain that's what I want now.
