Sorry for the stupid question, but now that I know what Table & Crown percentages to look for in my search for a Princess cut, maybe I should KNOW what Table & Crown really mean. Please help. Thanks.

The table is the upper flat facet of the stone....the flat "top" of a diamond in the face-up position, if you will.

The crown is the angled part between the girdle and the table......the area from the widest part of the diamond up to the table.

So, in plain english, it is preferable to have a smaller table, (top of the stone) and a larger crown (the angle from the middle to the top) because the sharp angle combined with smaller top produces a brighter output of light from the top??
