My new baby is an Old Lady
New antique jewel, new journey! And this will be quite an entertaining one.
((Drumroll, please))

10k gold, 5 Persian turquoise cabochons, and 26 rose cut beauties.
All cabochons are still the same color, all the rose cuts are original to the ring. If you see the one at the very top, the prongs look like a little flower or hurricane! It's the only one that is set like this but I love that little detail.
This is my oldest jewel yet. I'm quickly learning I got lucky with all my other antiques as they didn't need any sort of restoration or cleaning. But I guess the older the jewel, the more you can run into some unexpected issues:

The one I'm most concerned about is this split that cuts through the prongs on one side. There seems to be some old glue right behind it, and you can also see that the navette shape is uneven on that side. My theory is it might have been crushed or stepped on at one point, and it was somewhat straightened but not re-soldered, maybe to protect the turquoise, I don't know. I don't know what could be done about this issue, and I wasn't aware of it before I purchased it. The diamonds all seem to be secure.

My other, much more minor concern is all this glue! There seem to be two different types, one clear, one yellow. It doesn't show much from the top, but I worry the PH could change the stone's color with time. Who knows how long it's been there.

The diamonds have an open back, so for now i'm only removing some of the gunk that had a few of them completely clogged. I'm afraid of removing too much grime in case it's what's holding it all together
or keeping the stones secure. As suggested by @stracci2000, I've only been dry cleaning it with tiny brushes. I did end up using a toothpick for the excess glue and grime. It came out black! Where has this ring been?!
Cleaning it has been soooo relaxing ! I hope it wasn't some substance to intentionally blacken the rose cuts
I've only had it for one day, so I haven't yet taken it to a jeweler... but should I?
I always fear they won't know how to deal with an antique and will end up doing some damage. I absolutely love this ring and don't ever want to take it off, but I do want to be sure it's safe to wear. Any tips?
I'm glad I'll be going through all this with the ring
