My manicurists are ALWAYS nosey. I''ve used the making them guess technique. And I have played dumb and told them all I know is that it''s an asscher, a ''fancy'' cut. After that one of them pulled my hand closer and she said sagely, "High color, probably D and very clear VVS for sure. You got good man!" I have an F VSI... but what does that have to do with how good my man is??? Most people make ridiculous assumptions all the time. I find it best not to just ignore them.
I have never been asked about anything other than size. Well, except once when I was wearing a yellow cz and some idiot asked me what clarity my diamond was. He said it "must be at least a VVS and you know yellow diamonds are much cheaper than whites". I just looked at him and said yes, it is a VVS stone and I love it
