OOPS! Topic was supposed to be "Eternity pinkY ring"

Is it a horrible idea? I know thumb rings and pinky rings can get really banged up since they are less protected, and the ring I'm interested in is already near 100 years old.

But it is made of Platinum and diamonds, so should be sturdy?

Anyone with any experience with eternity pinky rings?

Here's the ring I'm looking at, it's a .35 ct, single cut rounds and baguettes, D-E color, VS1-2, set in platinum. The owner estimated it's from the 1920s.

I think it''s super cute. Even though my pinkies aren''t protected like my other fingers, I think I''m a little more gentle with them than my thumbs. I say GO FOR IT!!

That ring is beautiful. I think I tend to be a little more careful with my pinkies too, because they''re more fragile. I think it would probably be fine. I say go for it, also.

I think it should be fine. Gorgeous ring! Be sure to post pics if you decide to get it!

Luvmyhalo, your eternity band in your avatar looks quite similar. Can I ask where you got yours from?

What also has me on the fence is whether or not I would rather try to find this design in more modern cuts (and a brand new setting). The price would probably be about the same.

I got it from ID Jewelry. Mine is white gold with blue topaz and diamonds but they can make it with any gemstone and can also do it in platinum. Their pricing and customer service are phenomenal!!! (Be sure to tell them you''re a PS''er!) Their website has a small sampling of what they can do. Best thing to do is give them a call or email.

Thanks! I''ve heard the nicest things about ID Jewelery.

Oh decisions decisions. I find it odd that vintage jewelery can be more expensive than their brand new counterparts. At what age does "estate" jewelery (typically sold at lower prices), turn into "vintage" jewelery (typically sold at prices similar if not higher than retail of a similar item).

MakingTheGrade, the ring that you posted is gorgeous - I just love it, and think it would look great on your pinky.

I just want to ditto luvmyhalo. My DH just bought me that same ring that you have, except with the blue sapphires. I haven''t posted a thread for it yet because it''s a baby gift & the baby won''t be born until next month, so I don''t get to wear it until after, but ID Jewelry was great to work with and I couldn''t be more pleased with the ring.

I think it''s a brilliant idea! that''s the best finger to show off an all around design - and if you wear it on your right hand you''ll always be waving or showcasing it from all sides. I want one!!

I think that ring is beautiful! Go for it.

That is a cute ring! I love the idea of diamonds on the pinky finger.

I say go for it too - it''s beautiful and so delicate

You had me at "pink" but I love your pinky ring.

I love the older cuts. Its just perfect!

Really adorable! Go for it!

Sooo cute!!! I definitely like the idea!!

I think its a lovely idea! I can''t wear a pinky ring as my knuckle isn''t big enough to stop a ring sliding off.

I don''t have an eternity pinky ring but I have a pinky ring that a special friend made for herself, me and three of my girlfriends. I really treasure it, so I don''t wear it often. The first few times I did wear it, I put a couple of marks on the top of it, I guess from banging into things. You''ll just have to be more careful when wearing it.

MTG-I was just looking at it last night and thinking how nice it would be to have really small fingers so I could wear it :) It seems to be a really good price IMO too!!! I say go for it-it's really cute!
