I know this is more of a preference thing.....but I usually wear my 3-stone engagement ring (2 carat center stone with .5 or .75 side stones) flanked by two 2mm, 1 carat pave eternity bands.

I have been wanting a larger eternity band to wear with my ring. Is this 3.6 carat eternity too overwhelming to pair with my ring? (I ordered a spacer ring to wear in between)

FWIW, I can give you my initial impression; however, you are right that so much of one's thoughts about how rings look paired up or stacked is purely a matter of personal preference and tolerance. I know certain types of rings go together "more" than others and certain styles are currently fashionable, but...

I like the two rings together. Worn together, the rings are "a lot of diamond" but I think they are pretty. Your profile pic makes the eternity band seem monstrous next to the solitaire but that's sorta how it goes with eternity bands, especially a large one like yours! I like the way the rings look together. They look distinct yet complimentary!

You can always wear the eternity band solo and the three stone with other bands, as a switch up!

I'm interested to see what others have to say. I am by no means an expert and I'm not a matchy-matchy type...I like the way the rings look!

I definitely think it's a matter of preference! I think both rings are substantial and would look great worn alone (or with a smaller band in the case of the 3 stone ring). Both together would be a little too much for me on a daily basis, but I certainly think you can wear them together if you wish! Just be sure your spacer keeps the band from touching the prongs on your 3 stone ring or it may cut into them.

I am a matchy type of gal and prefer my 3-stone ring to take center stage. I had an eternity band made with a built in spacer to wear with my 3-stone or ering.
Your eternity is substantial enough to wear by itself.

I love them, together. I love tons of diamond, and less metal, so I’d wear that every. single. day. It doesn’t distract from your ER, and it stands well, alone.
It’s more your preference, but MY* preference would be the more bling the better...lol!

As the others have said it comes down to preference and not a matter of right or wrong. It sure is a wall of bling when worn together and if you love it rock (haha pun intended) it.:appl:

I however prefer a less bulky (for lack of a better word) look and think your 3 stone would look great with a less blingy band and your blingy eternity band would look great on its own perhaps on the other hand if you wanted to wear them both. My preference and not important. As I wrote if you love it rock it and rock it with confidence.

Your ering may spin next to such a think band. Your fingers wont make contact to orient the ring.
