Need some help deciding between these styles for an eternity ring for the wifey. She currently has a 1 ct Cartier 1895 plain round solitare style, about 2 mm in width on a 3.5 finger size. She would like an eternity band that she can wear by itself. Her current wedding band is a plain platinum 2 mm band, but she feels this is too thin by itself, so I am think something in the 2.3-2.5 mm range.

I like the Tiffany Novo because you can''t really see the gaps between the diamonds.

I like the Tiffany Legacy because with the milgrain and the bead setting, you also can''t really see the gaps.

The Cartier Ballerine is classic, but the beads/gaps are a little more noticeable.

Which do you all prefer and which would go better with her e-ring?

Here''s her e-ring:

Here''s the Tiffany Novo:

Here''s the Tiffany Legacy:

Here''s the Cartier Ballerine:

Does anyone have any other pictures of these rings, particularly the Tiffany ones? I've seen Krissie's pics of the Ballerine and they look great.

Isn''t the Novo band pretty thin? Personally, I would go with the Ballerine or the Legacy if she wants something more substantial.

The novo is 2mm. I''m not sure about the others.

i vote for the legacy. here's a picture of diamondseekers solitaire with the legacy band: (her diamond is a little over 1.6 carats)

I think she will need to try them on with her e-ring to know for sure. They are all pretty rings!

diamond seekers set so I vote legacy, but she really should try them on with her ering.

Ah, but the problem is that it's a surprise!

Mrssalvo, thanks for the link to diamondseekers combo. That's pretty similar to what my wife's would be like. It truly looks remarkable. I may not worry about the width, b/c I think they are all around 2mm. I think 2mm in a plain band seems too thin, but with an eternity band, it wouldn't look so plain and may be alright by itself.

Other than the milgrain, is there much difference between the Ballerine and Legacy? They look pretty similar with the thin channel and bead setting.

I think the legacy is actually closer to 2.5mm. So, it''s just a tad bigger and can work as a stand alone. The novo is too thin to wear by itself IMO. I''ve never seen the Ballerine in person but if it''s only 2mm, I''d still suggest the legacy for the tiny bit of additional width.

Alrighty then. I haven't seen either ring, so listen to the other posters

Based upon your pics, I like the Legacy band.

I have the Novo and I think it's pretty slim. I normally wear it as a stacker or sometimes with my ering (but in the latter case, it does still look quite thin).

My vote is for the Legacy. It's classy and elegantly understated.

The Cartier one, I haven't seen in person (or maybe I have but can't remember exactly). It appears, from the picture (and from my vague memory), that it is quite blingy.

So, it all depends on what look your wife would prefer, I guess.

ETA: I just re-read your post and see what i) your wife's ering is a Cartier-style and ii) her finger size is a tiny 3.50 (lucky lady!

). She might possibly prefer the Cartier Ballerine then.

I''m going against what others have said. I haven''t seen the Cartier in person (have seen Tiffany though) but I still like it best. I am just not a big fan of the Tiffany Legacy at all. Hard to explain too, but it just isn''t my favorite. I do like the Novo a lot but my gut is going with Cartier for a streamlined look.

OK, let me chime in and give my 2 cents.

When we were looking for an eternity band, one thing my wife wanted is for the rings to sit " side-by-side" as best as possible, meaning not to have a big gap between the ER and the eternity band. When you get into the straight sides of the band next to the ER, there is a gap, unless, the eternity band has what I call a bezeled side to it, not straight. Just wanted to share that thought, and including a pic of my wife''s eternity band. I am not suggesting this is what you get, but just trying to show an example:

I love the Legacy, but then I''m fond of the vintage look milgrain gives.

I wear a size 2.5 ring and have tried on the Novo and Legacy bands sized to 3s and the Legacy is definitely substantial enough to wear alone on smaller fingers. I didn''t get that feeling with the Novo. I have never seen the Ballerine in person so I can''t comment on this one. I love the look of the Legacy so I would recommend that. Good luck!

Thanks to all! I'm leaning towards the Legacy. I really like the milgrain. I just checked prices and the Ballerine is almost double the cost of the Legacy

Other than the milgrain (which I like anyways), I don't see too much difference between the two rings.
