, I find myself wanting to know if any guy wears an eternity band as his wedding ring. the girl gets that big rock and the guy it seems gets the left overs. the bands they make for men are boring and no bling. Am I wrong and would it look stupid to wear one. or maybe a few diamonds around the ring?

thanks

I assume this is personal preference, but I do not plan to have any diamonds on my wedding ring, and am hoping my fiancee will be okay with me getting the lowest maintenace, most durable ring possible with no bling whatsoever. I''m thinking titanium or tungsten. Good luck to you.

My DH is also in the "really simple" boat. However, in one of the threads recently in hangout (the thread got a little um...tense) someone posted about men''s bling (you know, like original meaning of bling - huge pave pieces) and one of the last posts in the thread was a huge asscher eternity that was made for a pro athlete. On most of the ladies here, that thing would have been a bangle bracelet! It was huuuuge. So, I thinnk that definitely answers the question that men DO wear eternity bands.

However, I see a lot of men right now doing diamonds in a more subdued way. There''s the "Bradd Pitt" ring that Diamani (sp?) does, with small diamonds on the edge of the band, and Poshpepper''s FI has a really, really cool band where the diamonds/sapphires almost look like grommets (a friend of mine''s FI picked out a similar band). I think diamonds for men are definitely making a comeback. I agree with you - I felt a little bit bad when I bought my DH''s ring - it cost a fraction of what mine did, even though it has the exact same importance and sentiment.

Depends on the man! My DH is a little metro and loves wearing pink shirts and flashy shoes etc. And he really really wants diamonds on his ring one day... Not a traditional eternity, though, but one like the facets ones that orbaya posted. Or one like poshpepper's hubby's ring, love that one!

But you know what? I think a man should wear whatever he wants, and if he wanted an eternity band then he should get it... he just needs to be "strong" enough to take razzing from men who are threatened when another man contradicts traditional masculine norms.

Ya know, I just think it looks way too feminine for a man to wear any diamonds on his band. Whenever I see a diamond on a man''s wband I think "um, okkaaaay?!?" If I saw an entire eternity band on a guy? Yeah, that would look weird. To me.

My husband is 6''2" and he weighs over 200 lbs, he is very manly, he works with his hands and loves Harley''s and cars that are fast, and he does have diamonds in his wedding band, 3 to be exact and the total weight is 1/2 ct, he loves his wedding band, however, he does not wear it to work nor when he is working on cars and things around the house, I say get what you/he wants, if you want diamonds get them

Up until recently, my FF really really wanted an extremely simple and durable band. However, after I told him that someday soon I want to get a diamond and sapphire eternity RHR because my birthstone is diamond and his is sapphire, he totally jumped on board and wants to get a wedding band that has some diamonds and sapphires. He really likes this one, except he envisions that each "couple" would have one diamond and one sapphire.

My husband''s WB has 5 3pt. diamonds in it. I got it for him for our 15 year anniversary, 10 years ago. His original WB became too small and couldn''t be sized. I am seeing a lot more diamond wedding bands for men these days. I love the Christian Bauer look, with tiny diamonds just around the top of the ring, or a third of the way down. Those rings are very pricey, but there are knockoffs around. My husband gets a lot of compliments on his WB for some reason. Possibly because I shine it up often. I think diamonds look fine on guys. Not a whole eternity band maybe, but incorporated in wedding bands, I think this is a modern look.

I always joke my fiance I''m going to get him a diamond wedding band, which he does not find amusing! I''m personally not a fan of diamonds in men''s bands, but to each her/his own! Tom Cruise wears an eternity band with long, thin baguettes set north/south, so it''s pretty wide. I''m not sure how I feel about that look for a guy, but I do like the ring itself.

Heh...Why does this make me laugh?

The receptionist where I work has the most enormous pave wedding-band.

He and his husband had them custom-made at Mappin & Webb in London and the craftsmanship is impeccable. The ring is at least a centrimetre in width and about 9 rows of pave. He''s lost two stones so far in a year, but at least they fix it for free everytime.

I make the poor man take it off at least once a week so I can look at it - mind you, he does the same with mine - and we try them out in different lighting! He is my work bling-buddy!

He is the only man I know who has a diamond wedding-band.

Me too :)

I have spoken to my BF about it and he flat refuses at the thought of diamonds in a band for him though I was contemplating a small single asscher in the centre, I kinda still want him to have some bling to it but it is his and what he wants.

I do have to laugh when I see mens wedding bands with princess cut diamonds.

I think you should get him what HE wants to wear because he''s the one who has to wear it. Diamonds or no diamonds.

I know, right? He''s so creepy!

I think a thick brushed metal band with a single small asscher is a really classy yet still masculine look for a guy.
My Fi didn''t want an ering but I really wanted to get him something still, so got a really nice heavy gold chain.
I agree, if the boy wants diamonds, let him wear diamonds, although an etenity band may look a lil different. I believe Nicole Richie and the Madden twin (?) she''s with wear matching eternity bands - but then again rockstars can get way with more!

However, in one of the threads recently in hangout (the thread got a little um...tense)
Elmorton, ur funny - heated is a nice way of saying it!

I find that Tom Cruise falls into two categories...either "makes me laugh", or "makes me think WTF?"
