I have an eternity band made up of 20 point stones. Do you think upgrading to 25 points would make a noticable difference?

Probably, my gf has a .75 ct band and I have 1.0 and I can see a big difference.

yes,and .25 ct stones will look HUGE :!:

I think 20 points is pretty large for an eternity ring. Are you wearing it alone or with an e-ring?

Maybe, but I think it would be uncomfortable. If you want a bigger bling look I would either do a five stone with much larger stones or a garland pattern like my Aurora, which has 35 point stones alternating with pairs of 10 pointers, so it has about 6mm of vertical finger coverage.

diamondseeker2006 - Yes, wearing it as a stand alone ring. I own a 20 point EB and I'm going through DSS. You are right, the comfort factor is a good point.

Dreamer_D - Had to go back to old posts to look at your Aurora ring. Very pretty. Is it comfortable? I'll bet a 6 mm you get lots of bling!

I'm going to play devil's advocate here. I have a full eternity made up of 25 pts and it's extremely comfy!! :wink2:

I kind of like Dreamer's idea of keeping the eternity with .20's and get a new 5 stone band with larger stones!

I third this idea! :twirl:

Even though the 25pt eternity is comfortable for me, I wouldn't trade up from 20pts. I personally don't think the difference would be *that* noticeable. I'd rather take that money and if necessary save up a bit more and buy a 5-stone band. I think one with 35-40pts would be the sweet spot for most ppl. Heck, even one with 45pts would be nice too.

Hi everyone and thanks for responding!

The only problem I have with a 5 stone (or anything that doesn't go all the way around) is the SPINNING issue. There's nothing worse than looking down and seeing metal. Unfortunately, I've got big joints. :angryfire:

DD - Does yours spin?

Or does anyone out there have a 5 stone and spinning issues? If so, is there something that could be done?

I'm going to join Phoenix in agreeing that 20-25 pointers will be very comfortable. I worried about this issue too, but my eternity with 30 pointers is extremely comfortable, if you want to jump up in size.

As for the spinning, sizing balls or pads should solve this problem.
