Thanks, everyone! I'm loving it more and more. I can't get over how comfortable it is to wear, particularly since the there's a bit of diamond overhang onto my other fingers. I don't feel a thing- maybe because the difference is more subtle between the shank and the height of that last diamond.
I'd asked Mark about making cut-outs on the baskets or something to open up the gallery a little and he said in order to do that, he'd have to make the baskets heavier than I'd wanted, as I was going for more of a delicate ring. I'm glad I listened to him!
My husband is actually not a particular fan, though he admits the ring is beautifully made. He thought the ERD pics/CADs made the ring look too "industrial" and that he prefers diamonds without "anything around them" but when he saw it in person, he conceded it was a lot prettier than his initial opinion.
Braga, I paid $1850 for the setting. I received quotes that were $400 and $1200 more!
Woofmama, I had purchased the center stone in a ring that I later sold a long time ago from Diamond Bistro. That stone has been in 2 other ring settings plus a pendant. I actually reached out to Grace and had her find the side stones in the particular mm's and color that I was after. She was very easy to work with!
Here's a pic with my 2.5mm ering so you can see how thin the band is.
