Is a solitaire ring the only "appropriate ring" for an engagement ring?
Personally, I like 3 stone rings (solitaires look too "alone" to me).
I know my girl loves 3 stone rings as well.
Someone told me that 3 stone rings are supposed to be "Past, Present, Future" and are to signify Anniveraries.
So, would it be wrong of me to get a 3 stone for an engagement ring? Should I stick to a solitaire?
Thanks for you help.

Get whatever you want. More accurately, get whatever it is your intended wants. Don't let anyone tell you what to use for an e-ring.

Hi,

Get her what she wants.

Many three stone designs are sold as engagement rings.

Agreed...get her what she wants (and hopefully you like it too.) Solitares are traditional, but e-rings are personal. There are many many types of rings used for e-rings and wedding rings, and you should pick what you and she like best.

Go with the gut. If she likes the 3stone than that's all that matters. It's a beautiful choice.
Nan

Did you ask her, see what she want?

LOL. I actually wanted a solitaire with pave setting, but my fiance said:

"NO! Only 1 stone to stand for 1 man!"

I liked the solitaire without the pave setting too, so I didn't disagree with not getting a pave setting.

But I'll get an eternity wedding band, so that'll match up nicely. (That's also another consideration, what type of wedding band you'll get.)

If she loves the 3-stone e-ring, then get her that. There's no right or wrong but what you want!

If she doesn't have a preference, then save her the 3-stone ring for your anniversary!
