Engagement rings in NYC

I am in NYC looking for an engagement ring and wanted to know if there were any decent jewelers with reasonable prices. Specifically, I''m looking for a round stone of between 0.5 and 1 cts with tapered baguettes (I saw this ring at Tiffany''s, but it was beyond my price range). I''m looking for something priced at $2000 or below. I''ve heard that I.D. Jewelry in the Diamond Distict has gotten some good reviews, but what are some others? (Also, if you know of any stores that sell the kind of ring specified above, please let me know.)

You can get a setting like that at any of the PS recommended vendors. From what I have read here, ID jewelry is great. So is Good Old Gold, Engagement Rings Direct. All located in NYC.

I think Good Old Gold in Long Island would be especially good, albeit not that conveniently in the diamond district. Definitely other options include Excel Diamonds, and possibly James Allen. An appointment with all would help a lot.

I just wanted to say hi UCLABRUIN05, I am also a Ucla Bruin 05. Welcome to the board! Sorry don't know much about engagement rings in NYC cause I live in CA, but my bf (also ucla 05) did buy my engagement ring stone from GOG in long island. Their customer service and august vintage cushions are wonderful. The pictures I have seen of the rounds on here are really great as well, but I am not a round girl.
