I''m very new here so please be gentle!

Now I admit I know next to nothing about jewellery, but I had a brief foray with Google which showed me some shaped wedding bands, and also led me to this site. Basically I only just realised my beloved engagement cluster ring will definitely not sit flush with a wedding band.

I had really just wanted a plain gold band as a wedding ring but I REALLY want it to sit flush, no idea why but it just bothers me if it won''t. I''ve attached a photo that shows what I mean about the setting curving out, and I wondered what sort of thing should I be looking for?

If possible, I wanted to stay away from high street jewellers, so I really wanted to know exactly what I should be asking for, for when I look around, if you see what I mean. And will a shaped band look hideous on its own?

Also, I have really spindly fingers! My ring size is an I which is a US 4.5, and this will go over my knuckle, but then sits very loose against my actual finger. I can''t go to a 4 or it would scrape the skin off my knuckles being forced on, so I''m not sure what options I have on that front? (other than eating more cakes!)

Thanks in advance for any and all advice

You might think about buying a couple of rings, the first curved band fitted and soldered together (won''t spin and will last longer) with your engagement ring and the second plain band to wear alone.

Due to the style of my e-ring, I had to have my wedding band custom made to curve around the e-ring. They fit flush together. I cannot wear the wedding ring on its own, however. I do have a five stone anniversary band that I wear, if I don''t want to wear my wedding set. Just something to keep in mind with curved wedding bands

Getting a curved band will sit flush with your ering. Many people have curved wedding bands. I think it will look great with your ering..

Get several quotes and go from there. Good luck and welcome to PS!!!

I agree with Jim.. :)

Thanks so much to everyone for the replies and the welcome!

I hadn''t even considered that I could have a band soldered to my e-ring, though it seems a little drastic (might be part of the new ''I dont ever want to take this off my finger'' feeling though

Without soldering, if I get a curved wedding band in 18k gold (like my e-ring is) would they still wear each other down badly? Would it help stabilise the ring from spinning, or would they both just spin round together?
