would be difficult to say no with this engagement ring.... :twirl:

London-based jeweller Hattie Rickards is as passionate about design as she is about using ethically sourced materials. Regularly called upon by brides-to-be looking for an alternative to the more traditional notions of what an engagement ring should look like, Hattie recently launched a bespoke service on the back of a string of successful commissions. Hattie's style is bold and colourful. Her rings, such as this amethyst and ruby engagement ring - a recent commission - have a minimalist geometry about them that will appeal to lovers of contemporary jewellery design. But she is equally at home refashioning an old ring into something a whole lot more contemporary.

Just some twist of colors... :Up_to_something:

Why, on why.....I cannot imagine how the newly wed will feel when the amethyst is all scratched up and chipped within weeks. It is a soft stone and will not hold up to 24/7 wear. Add to the fact that it is a low RI stone and the one pictured has practically no facets on the crown, the stone is going to look like a cabochon (totally see-through and not sparkly). I suppose it having very few facets will help the amethyst hold up better than a faceted version. At least they are inexpensive to replace.
