Emerald vs Victorian cut?

I've been trying to find information on Victorian cuts, but there's just not that much I could find. Using the big diamond search engines i.e. Blue Nile & James Allen, there's no option for Victorian. From what it seems it's similar to a Emerald cut, but I really don't know much so I'm not sure. Is that a correct assumption? Given the same carats/color/clarity should pricing be in line with Emeralds or would Victorians be higher or lower? They seem to look pretty, but other than that I really am new to this so the lack of discussion/information (searching this forum came up with maybe one thread with a mention of Victorian) scares me a little bit. Are there any downsides with a Victorian? Is this considered a gimmicky cut, as it seems a lot of places don't sell them? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Victorian is proprietary, usually they are more expensive. It has more facets than a regular emerald.

I'm no expert on diamonds full stop, let alone Victorian cut diamonds. However, my jeweler dropped off my finished engagement ring today and she had a three stone ring with Victorian cut diamonds. It was beautiful! The stones had the refined flashes that an emerald cut has but also the brilliance and fire of a round. I just looked them up. Here's the link...

I would never have known about these stones if she hadn't mentioned them. I wish I'd got a photo! The centre stone looked to be between 1.5 and 2ct with slightly smaller sides.

It is a branded cut so not everyone carries them. My local jewellery carries the Criscut which is similar. Other than having the same outline, the appearance is very different. There are no clean clear lines or steps. It is much busier than the traditional emerald cut. Pricing will be higher due to branding and being a proprietary cut.

Octavias are perfect squares while the others are elongated in a more traditional ratio (rectangular). Just FYI.
