my 1st post on this website-im showing for the pleasure of some-a pet i had about 4 years-she was just 1 year old & had just changed from orange with white spots to the green you see now-these guys are known for not doing well in cages & are not handleable because of a bad temper-thankfully she never read the book about her kind so she was well adjusted & loved her tummy rubbed-i like green and red gems & have a good collection of alexandrite, emerald, a little spinel in red & a few others-she is non-poisonus but does have long teeth for hunting as she spends her entire life in trees in the wild-just thought id share her with the website-thanks steve...

beautiful animal!

Wow, she is stunning! Thanks for sharing! ::)

She is a lovely color! Is she your only snake?

BTW - my favorite snake is a gabon viper...its got such a lovely pattern and beautiful suede-like soft coloring.

Steve, What a lovely snake! Pretty color and pattern. I also wonder if you have others? I like snakes....from afar.

Ty, I agree those gaboon vipers are beautiful, but very, very scary! I think it's interesting how very heavy they are.

tyty333-the gaboon viper has beautiful markings but is deadly-one almost killed a boy who stole the snake from the washington zoo-it was about 6-8 ft long & bit the boy thru the bag the snake was in-the boy was sick for months & almost lost his arm. my snake never bit me but was aggressive though-she was handled almost every day so she was hand tame and used to handleing-before i had the greenie i did have a columbia boa-she was about 10 inches when i got her & about 8 ft when i sold her. she was sweet & only bit me once on the finger-was my fault & never happened again-people dont realize how delicate snakes really are-they are good pets but require much work-here is a pic of my columbian boa-steve...

Are you serious!?! I wouldnt touch one with a 10 foot pole!!! I cant believe you can handle it like that. Plus its hugh!
Honestly, I have only seen one in real life once and then a few times on TV but when I saw it I was so facinated by its
pattern and color. Just a really beautiful creature (I'll be it deadly).

My son would love a snake but I'm afraid I would end up doing most of the care taking and I'm not into feeding them (live animals).
I like visiting my local zoo and local pet store to see the little (and not so little) guys.

Do you have any other snakes/pictures?

tyty333-you have seen just 2 of the pets i raised-iv raised quite a few in my years so far & they were quite handleable when i sold them-as for now its just me & the wife-im not doing any pets at this time so now i take care of the wife & she is very tame now too-haha-for hobbies now we enjoy a few gems for pendents that i buy the stones for & then assemble the pendents in my configuration-so far iv done about 20 & most are pretty unique & have appraised very nicely-still have a fondness for the reptiles-the wife likes cats-thanks for your interest-just as a thought-iv known poeple who owned large pythons & kept them in their house-when they fed the snake besides bringing in their meal they carried a 38 cal handgun loaded with snake shot in case the snake got hold of the person doing the feeding-with an animal that large & strong accidents can happen-careful careful-steve....

I love snakes and lizards... DH won't let me have any because he doesn't like "caged" animals. I had a veiled chameleon some years back. His name was Diego. He was super cool.

Beautiful snakes. They scare the crap out of me!
