I noticed that the AGA cut chart shows 1:5 to 1:75 ratio as recommendation for rectangular Emeralds ---However, these proportions are actually somewhat rare for shoppers if you are to look at listings for larger Emeralds in PriceScope and other diamond data bases. At this time, mostof the larger Emeralds in the data bases seem to be closer to square shapes, rather than strong rectangular shapes.

I know that this is ultimately a matter of personal taste, but the AGA recommendations certainly seem to put a premium on stronger rectangular proportions.

So, I am wondering if the AGA chart is an indicator of the general expert consensus about most favored (and valued) Emerald length to width ratios?
