He can't see any treatments 20240405_164014.jpg 20240405_163940.jpg 20240405_163812.jpg so he recommends sending it to AGL. I usually use GIA and have an account with them in Carlsbad. Is there such a huge difference in testing quality between the two labs? Tia

For Emeralds no, but Sapphires and Rubies and other colored stones the AGL is the leading authority in the USA (many say the world) for colored gemstones. I personally would send the Emerald to the AGL.

I love both labs, but if you already have an account with GIA, I don't see the need to send it off to AGL. The only reason I would do that is to have it graded, and I'm not sure they do that with mounted gems anyway. The GIA does not do it at all with colored gems. Which report is cheaper for a mounted emerald of this size? That might change my mind. lol
