Emerald diamond with halo versus without

Hello. Thank you for reading my post. (I don’t know where to post this because I do not particularly care whether folks who respond have a diamond from the Earth versus an LGD. If this in the wrong forum or needs to be added to a second forum, please let me know.)
I do not like haloes in general, except I DO like them on emerald cuts. But I also like emerald cuts without a halo. Is there a disadvantage to having a halo on an emerald diamond? Does it compromise the look of the emerald cut? Do the corners get snagged on things? Has anyone had an emerald cut diamond with a halo that they subsequently removed? Has anybody added a halo to an emerald-cut diamond? I am not making a purchase at this time. Just trying to get a feel for this. I appreciate all your responses and photos please, when possible. Thank you again.

OK, so do the synthetic emeralds snag when they have synthetic halos? Or are you talking about synthetic emeralds without halos? Or both? If you have a synthetic emerald diamond with a halo of natural diamonds, would that solve the snagging issue? Conversely, if you have a natural emerald with a halo of synthetic diamonds, it will definitely snag?

I think he was being sarcastic. A good setting/type of prong and finish will minimise the snagging.

Thank you, maryjane04. I wasn’t sure. I’ve seen plenty of derisive posts from FreddyBoston regarding LGDs so I wasn’t sure if s/he was giving legitimate feedback or not. Either that or perhaps I was just pretending to be naïve.
