The process of finding the perfect diamond for an engagement ring has been rather daunting, to say the least. While I wanted to select an emerald cut, the devil was most certainly in the details. So, I have located a 2.12ct, D color, no fluorescence, very good polish and symmetry, VS2 GIA-certified diamond. The table is 73%, with a depth of 62.4%, and is medium to slightly thick. It looks just like what I was looking for. I don't have a photo, but was wondering whether those who know much more than I do about this could provide comments and a reaction based on the specifications provided. I would like to know how these specifications rank among those that you'd especially look for in an emerald cut. The ratio is 1.3:1.
I also would like any input on whether it makes sense to increase or change any of the specifications provided. While first and foremost I want to purchase a gorgeous ring for my sweetheart that she'll love each day, it is also a significant investment and want to be sure that I make a wise decision. Thanks in advance for your help.
