Just a quick one for you jewellers out there. Is it more difficult or time consuming to set an emerald cut stone versus an oval. I am currently getting a 3 stone ring revised and I like the look of the emerald cuts but I was cautioned so need other opinions please.

leggs,
Setting an Emerald cut is easier than setting an oval, as long as the setting is built for the emerald cut. If you are trying to set an emerald cut where an oval used to be, then it becomes much more difficult, as the prongs probably won''t fit any calibrated emerald cut and the structure underneath the stone will be oval and not rectangular. What type of setting are you wanting the emerald cut to go into ?
