Emerald Cut - is this large table a deal-breaker?

Hello!

I am looking at purchasing a special emerald cut stone for my 20th anniversary. After determining some parameters, I brought one in to look at but it is outside of those. If anyone who is well-versed in emerald cuts would be willing share their thoughts, I would love to hear them. The stone has to go back next week if I decide not to purchase it.

Is the large table a deal-breaker? The shallow depth makes it really large, which is fantastic but I'm worried about the table and probably a shallow crown.

I have videos but they have a logo on them so I'm not sure if I am allowed to upload them on this forum. Does anyone know if I can share them if they are branded?

This is what I brought in:
K VS2
Excellent Polish & Symmetry
Table 71%
Depth 61.3%
Girdle - medium - slightly thick
Cutlet - none

This is what I was looking for:
Excellent for Polish and Symmetry
Table - 54-66%
Depth - 58-67%
Girdle- Thin-Thick
Culet- None

I am looking at a K VS2 to keep the price lower and the size larger. =)2
Any help would be very welcome!

I’d like to see videos. I think you know it isn’t perfect by the numbers. It sounds like spread was important to you, which is good to know. I would not usually prioritize spread over other factors. I’d like to see the video to see what kind of compromise this is. From the photos I’m a little concerned about how uneven the steps are and whether it will affect liveliness and possibly be over dark sometimes.

Thank you - did the links to the videos show up?

Thank you so much for your response! I posted links to the videos. Hopefully they will be approved to appear. I don’t want to prioritize spread necessarily…. Just with fancy cuts it seems like the parameters don’t always apply?

Sort of…. But some things are more invariable and I think huge tables are so rarely supportive of great optics that it might as well be a rule.

I could not see any video links.

While fancy cuts are a bit different pertaining to specs, this ASET image tells you everything you need to know.
The circled portions are locations where there is little to no life. This is face-on. You will see straight through this stone in both locations every time you like face-on at this stone. Depending on your setting, you will certainly see more than just reflections of the setting in this stone. This is the “window” effect.
You want this diamond to be bright face-on, as well as have excellent contrast so the steps move effortlessly, dim, and flash on point.
I agree with @Dreamer_D on this one.
Further evaluation via video and in different lighting environments are important to determine if the circled portions compromise the overall performance and brilliance of this diamond.
What are the dimensions?

I do not see links to videos, either.

Thanks! My post with links to the videos says it's awaiting moderator approval. I'm not sure how to share them otherwise. But, in response to Matthews1127, the stone is 8.02 ct, and the size is 14.01 x 10.02 x 6.15.

However... even without videos, it sounds like the advice is that the large table and the ASET both indicate that I should keep looking.

Thanks so much for your help with evaluating it!!

I’ve attached diagrams using the dimensions.
On PAPER, it’s a great stone.
This issue is in the ASET image; it’s not a great performer.
