Emerald Cut diamond with a 55% table?

I''m looking at an emerald cut diamond that has a 55% table. I''ve been researching small tables on emeralds but the smallest table info I can find is at 60%. How does a small table affect an emerald?

I''ve seen a picture of the diamond and it''s beautiful. I won''t see it with my eyes until Monday, assuming I call it in.

Do you know the depth? It won;t really answer the question, but I am curious.
There''s to many other factors to consider along with table size to make any meaningful statement about the stone without seeing it.
Corner size is a biggie.
Can you post the photos?

The depth is 67.8%, very good polish/symmetry, J color, VS 2, 1.02 carats, GIA cert. That''s all the info I have.

Well the stone is not overly deep- which is a good thing.
he small table will likely mean a slightly higher crown- which can be extremely pretty- of course taste will play a role.
What some find beautiful, others find horrible.....

I am betting its a stunner. It may be a little deep for its carat weight. With a depoth of 68 and a table like that it may have a high crown which is desirable but can take away from diameter. do you have the actual stone measurements?

Oh yay! I just bought it but won't receive it until next Thursday (thought it would be Monday but I was wrong!). I paid $3500. It's a bit too late now

Try to negotiate with the vendor from whom you ordered it, using the prices from the Pricescope search engine. Though they probably can't match the lowest internet price, they may be willing to come down some.

Unfortunately I''m working with Jared''s Galleria and they won''t negotiate. I love the emerald diamond but I''m not going to pay $1K over another vendor. However, I have found a beautiful round diamond that is much better quality than the one that I bought from them in store, and am going to have it brought in. I found out this afternoon that a Scott Kay setting that is my dream setting (platinum with baguettes), they were able to sell to me at a discounted price of $700.00. I want that setting more than the emerald cut diamond!

So hopefully someone will buy this emerald (not from Jared''s

) and post pictures!

I am! The IGI diamond and the halo setting. I wanted this Scott Kay setting but there was an issue with the prongs. I talked to Quest Jewelers today and they said they could fix the prongs for me, but that I should see if Jared''s could send the setting to Scott Kay first. My SA at Jared''s said they could, it would take 2 months and that most people wouldn''t wait that long. This is my dream setting so I''m more than willing to wait 60 (or less!) days! I have to send a diamond with the setting (which is fine. For some reason I trust Scott Kay''s benchmen over Jared''s) so I''m using this opportunity to get a diamond I can live with permanently. The diamond I have was going to be upgraded at some point but since I can get this setting after all, it has to be THE diamond.

LOL! I know! When the SA pulled out the Scott Kay setting and I literally gasped! It was THE ONE. I tried it on trying not to get my hopes up because I thought it was out of my price range. It fit my diamond and fit my finger like a glove! And it was discounted from $2100 to $700! The prongs needed to be tweaked and so it''s being shipped off to Scott Kay next week. I''m so stoked!

I''m trying to find a picture of the setting. It''s a discontinued setting, platinum trellis with bezel (or hammered?) set baguettes, .30ctw. I''m looking for best cut possible, .75-.85, $2500 tops.
