Emerald Cut -- Choosing a Diamond -- Please HELP

Hey - Thanks in advance for any help. I''ve been looking at a number of emerald cut diamonds and my biggest concern has been that they dont seem to sparkle enough. I know the EC is not that sparkly of a cut but the stones at Tiffany seemed to have more sparkle than in other places. That all being said -- can you give me you thoughts on the following stones:

Stone 1:
3.02 Carat
10.0x7.0x4.7
J Color
VS1
62% table
66% height
slightly thick - very thick girdle

Stone 2:
3.02 Carat
9.1x7.0x4.88
I Color
VS2
69% table
68% height
medium - thick girdle

Stone 3:
2.44 Carat
9.0x7.2x4.4
G Color
VS1
68% table
61% height
thin - very thick girdle

based on table/depth, I think that 1 and 3 have the most potential, although the table on #3 is on the large side. #1 is very elongated (~1.42 l/w). Personally i would not go down to a J color in a step-cut stone, so #3 would be the only one I would look into more fully, as it is a G and has a L/W ratio I like more (1.25).

These are the same 3 diamonds from your other thread. We still need pictures. If sparkly is what you are going for, perhaps you should consider a different cut. I like to think of ECs as more shimmery. Also, don''t forget that Tiffany''s lighting is NOT representing how their diamonds will look in real lighting.

If you want sparky in an EC you need them slightly on the wide side, a high crown with a table in the low 60% range.
And you need to see them in person or get pictures.

I wouldnt even consider the last and likely not the first.
You also need an expert vendor to help you find them doing searches on lists isnt going to get one.

These look like the same 3 diamonds you posted previously; I thought I had dejavu and had to stop to check the posting date.

As I replied in the other thread, I would pass on all three. If you like warmth in your EC, then I might call in the first stone for a further look. I would not even bother with #2 and #3. As Storm said, if you want an impressive EC, keep both table and depth under 65% with a high crown height. Pictures are also a MUST.

With that in mind, by the number alone. They are all NOs for me. The first one is the best-- but the symmetry is bad and its a J at 3 carats that''s a lot of warmth and is really a personal choice issue. The second one is a waste of carat weight and has only good polish plus the table is just too big. The the third is the worst of the lot despite the G: symmetry, table and gridle are all bad.
