It looks like you are reading it fine! So far so good, can you also post the crown and pavilion angles please? It should also be on the report.

hi, I see two angle numbers: top one is 31.5 degrees and bottom is 41.4 degrees
there are other numbers in the middle of the diagram but i''m not sure what they are. But there is no culet.

Based on those numbers your stone scores a 2.4 on the cut adviser and falls outside AGS ideal but withing GIA excellent (which I believe is how it's graded already, correct?). Can you find a tighter stone? Yes. Is it worth it? Only you can say. A few people have pointed out slightly smaller stones that still fall within budget with the ps discount.

The question is, do you love it? Or are you too concerned that it doesn't have a D/IF pedigree?

yes, it does fall into excellent. I guess I needed to know if other people had L''s. I think that was bothering me. It''s very big and I think I love it. How sad that I''m not sure. I guess we all want to fall in love and be absolutely certain!
Thank you so much for helping me with the proportions and everything else. Everyone is awesome on this site. Very knowledgeable and kind too! I would love to see photos. I''ll post some of mine as soon as I can. By the way, the tag is still on it :)
thanks again!

ok, we are trying to save money but want a carat. Would you guys be embarrassed to wear an L color, SI2, ideal cut, 1.01, round. Strong blue flor.

Does that sound scary and pathetic? I''m sorry i''m clueless here. I just don''t want to look foolish.

No time to read, got a client coming up the stairs.

Let me just say that to very many people, L is for LOVELY!

It is the CUT that determines the beauty, not the color, nor the clarity. I have seen and sold (i am ashamed to say) ugly flawless diamonds that were cut poorly. In my defense, I did tell my clients that the diamonds were cut poorly, but they could not see past the word Flawless.

Great post Wink and I think that will give our new L owner the type of input she needs coming from you!

To my mind, Lorelei is one of the great Sources of All Knowledge on PS when it comes to diamonds... and if an L colour is good enough for Lorelei to choose and own (and I am still waiting to see photos of your L diamond Lorelei!) then it must be good!

I would love to see photos of your diamond Roisin2000 - it sounds beautiful - and a score of 2.4 is not to be sniffed at! :)

We need a little blushing icon. Thank you for your kind words.

Apparently I should post more often with clients coming up the stairs and no time to overthink my reply...

"Embarrassed?" Oh, dear no. I love the warmer colors, also. Many people who know diamonds do. As you''ve learned the most important C is cut. It should look fine if it is cut well.

Someone here has, I forget who, a "warm" oval with small whiter side stones. The whiter stones show off the warm color of the center stone and it is very pretty.

Strong blue flouro? Cool. Sounds nice.

Great ! !

Going to have to totally ditto everything you said there Cleo!

i hope you guys aren''t going to be mad, but I am still doubting the ring. I know i''m the one that has to decide but we made a hasty decision and now are going to return it. what a drag. But i just called whiteflash. i don''t know why i didn''t call them to begin with!
the representative was super-nice just like you guys! I think I like their settings much better too!
thanks again for everything. I hope I didn''t offend anyone about L''s.

i''m sorry i took up so much time. I guess sometimes it''s ok to "send it back."
it''s kind of different when you''re upgrading and you get to pick it out. I''m so confused though. The more I look at pictures the more i change my mind. Anyhow thanks again to everyone!

No apologies needed! What''s most important is that you are truly happy with your ring and that you really love it. If you aren''t then it''s not the ring for you. :)

Everyone here has different preferences for size, colour, clarity, shape, and even metals... but that''s ok because it''s part of what makes it fun to be part of PS! Noone is offended by anyone elses preference - and we all enjoy admiring the pretty jewellery!

Do please feel free to post again if you would like help in choosing a new stone, because we would all love to help you.

If you''re not sure then you''re probably doing the right thing in returning it. Don''t worry, the perfect diamond is out there waiting for you to find it! :)
