Elegantly Opulent: Jewels by Grace hits it out of the park..

I've had this gorgeous antique signed brooch for a while and I had no idea what to do with it... as I do not wear brooches; but felt that if I had converted the piece into a pendant, it would be trapped in cleavage all day long. About a month ago I decided to reach out to Grace of Jewels by Grace and asked if she would be able to turn my brooch into a hinged bangle. I had been bitten by the bangle bug earlier this year when I won the OMC bangle at the JCK GTG and I was fiending for something fancier. Not only did the finished product exceed my expectations, but it won my husband (who really does not comment on jewelry) over as well. Grace was not only able to finish the piece before the holiday rush, but had it completed nearly a week ahead of schedule!

Stats: Irid/plat for brooch with approximately 1.8 carats of OECs and OMCs, some with SBF
Bangle: Split stem 14k RG hinged with a safety chain

Sorry for the crappy pics, but it's gloomy for once in Cali!

Gorgeous, it looks like it was always meant to be in that setting. I wouldn't have known that it was originally from another piece just by looking at the photos. The detailing on the brooch part is so intricate and elegant, and the contrast with the rose gold really makes it pop. Wear it in good health and happiness!

What a gorgeous piece!!! And it wraps so elegantly around your wrist  .
It indeed looks like it was designed like this originally. The mixed metals seem to flow into one another and enforce the colors. Gorgeous!!!

Just gorgeous!!!

Question...was that broach curved originally? I assume it must have been, but I am wondering why that would have been. It certainly made it work well as a bracelet!

Actually, it was not originally curved; it was completely straight. I asked Grace to make sure if it was not possible to bend it into a curve without ruining the design aspects; if it was not possible I would not have ruined a piece that was in pristine condition. Grace was very understanding about not wanting to ruin such a special piece of history-- and consulted her bench prior to any work being done. She reassured me it was possible without damaging it, it was just very labor intensive.

For anyone who was wondering the piece is signed by Wiliam Wise and Sons. There is a Museum in Brooklyn with their silver pieces.
