I''ve been price shopping an engagement ring and I think I found something good.It rates a 1.7 on the Holloway Cut scale, but my biggest fear is that the cert is from EGL2.

Here are the stats:
Shape: Round Brilliant
Color: E
Clarity: VVS2
Cut: Ideal
Weight: 0.72 ct
Measurements: 5.81-5.84*3.49
Depth: 60.3%
Table Diameter: 59.5%
Crown Height: 14.3%
Pavilion Depth: 43%
Issuer: EGL2
Price: $3236

This is on www.diamonds-usa.com (has anyone heard of them?) Thanks for the great website, and any help

Sounds very strange and unusual... Definitely get a second unbiased opinion, should you decide to purchase it!

Although this may be on the level, I reviewed their website and there are many mispellings and some of their code doesn't work. Obviously this has no direct effect on their diamond quality, but I want to feel comfortable with where I buy my diamond. I'm walking away from this one.

Never heard of EGL2. There are plenty of places to buy diamonds from online...and the ones with the most info win hands down in my eyes. Look for Sarin results, crown and pav angles, bscope results if possible, IdealScope images, light ray paths, etc.

Anyway here are a few more stones that are similar to what you seem to be looking for (colorless and non-eye visible inclusions with an excellent cut). They are between $3200-3600. I ran this search on Pricescope using 'excellent cut quality', D-F color and VVS2-VS2 for clarity. These all scored under 2.0 on the HCA and are all AGS 0, the top one is SuperbCert.

There are more where this came from if you care to pay up to around $3800-4000. Good luck!!
