Well I recently purchased a 1.22 G SI2 round brilliant EGL-USA certed (LA lab 12/03). I took the diamond to a well respected independent appraiser and asked him to be more strict than lenient b/c I have a return policy on the stone. He graded it out a G SI1. This makes me feel much better about the stone. Just wanted to share this with those who helped me decide whether or not the EGL-USA cert was a good idea with the lower clarity. Just FYI this guy said that he has found the more recent(2003) EGL-USA certs to be more dependable than those from years past. That was the sameinfo from this forum. Anyway it worked out for me and I hope it works out for anyone else that was in my position.
