Hi,

I was wondering if anyone out there has information on Edwardian Platinum Old Mine or European Cut engagement rings or loose diamonds. I am in the Los Angeles area and would like to see some of these in person. I have seen the Fay Cullen site & everything in this category is great... I just want to see some before I make a decision. Any advice would help... I am looking in the $4000 range... w/ setting.

Thanks

Let me know what you find out.. I am considering buying from Fay Cullen as well. My budget is about the same and I am in love with the flash from the old cut dimaonds

You should visit Singlestone they are in Los Angeles... I visit over their website
singlestone.com since I''m not in California and can''t go to their showroom. They have beautiful pieces and alot of them are older.

Second going to Singlestone, if you''re in LA. They showed me some gorgeous loose OMCs when I was there.

You can also PM Oldminer. His company wholesales older stones, so he might be able to suggest other places for you to visit.

There''s a little shop on Montana Ave (at 15th Street, I think) in Santa Monica with a pretty good selection of antique/vintage style rings. I think it''s called Montana Avenue Jewelry or something like that. I went to look at rings there last month, and the saleswoman was very friendly and helpful.

you might also try Antiquarius on Beverly Blvd between Doheny and Robertson.

Are you thinking of 23rd St Jewelers? They have gorgeous stuff but do NOT go on in the middle of the day on the weekend; they get totally packed.

I know you said you wanted to see rings in person, but do, for fun, check out: www.nelsonrarities.com

I recently did business with them and was HUGELY impressed. Their antique rings are fully restored, and often the center stones are repolished. It is my understanding that not all their inventory is displayed on their website....they may have something wonderful. When I was interested in a ring, they sent me lots of great photographs, taken from every angle.

Just a thought...good luck!

Single Stone!

My OEC is from there. It''s stunning... they even found my fiance an ''F'' since he wanted a whiter stone.

They were awesome to work with - and I will certainly go back to buy more in the future.
