It would be nice if we could allow a longer period of time to go back and edit a post. I'm a terrible speller, or sometimes I feel as if I didn't clarify something upon reading it, and I often go back and edit.

I actually love that idea too.. I''m not sure what the rules are now (as in, you can edit it within an hour of posting or w/e) but i think that more time would be great!
I don''t normally get the chance to proofread my posts like I''d want to.

I would love to hear what should I consider extending the editing time to.

Right now it is 20 min I believe.

I would like 90min if the problems come back it could be shortened again.
It was implemented because a couple people where starting fights then going back and editing the posts if no one quoted them. Then acting like they were the victim.
Sometimes the edits were done a day later.
Which is why today the old timers use quote more than then.
It was considered rude at one time to quote long posts but that went out the window during that period.
The people that were a problem are long gone and or they have changed their ways.

Oooooh, that''s nice, Andrey -- thanks!

I saw a forum once that allowed indefinite editing, but the cool part was that the post would say, "edited 1 time" or "edited 2 times" etc., AND the original post(s) were always saved. So if you saw that someone had edited a post, you could click on the "edited 1 time" (etc.) and see the older posts. Usually it was just a grammar correction, etc., but sometimes it was more. (Kinda like Storm noted; but the *proof* was right there.) I''m not askin'' for that
