Don't buy from sandmgoldsales on ebay.

I won a small diamond from him at auction and it arrived with a crack down the center. I returned it within the window. And waited. And waited. The seller kept saying he would refund the money and had lots of apologies. But its now been one month since he received the diamond back from me and no refund. I went to leave negative feedback and he has removed the listing from ebay so I cannot leave feedback. And the time for an ebay case expired. That was my fault because I waited too long. But he strung me along and removed the listing so I cannot leave feedback, and has still not refunded my money.

It was not a lot of money, but the seller is dishonest. So do not buy from him.

THanx for posting and letting us know. Shame about the loss.

A seller can remove a listing after the item has sold? Are you sure? Did you check "my ebay"? Or "advanced search." Only ebay can remove a completed auction. While they do roll off after a certain amount of time, that usually takes months.

He strung you along over the 45 day return period? Did you pay by paypal or credit card? It may still not be too late to get your money back. It is worth a try.

Very odd! I have never heard of a sold listing being removed, either. So it just disappeared from your bought items???

I am so sorry that happened, Dreamer, and thanks for the warning.

I thought it was 45 days too. Yes, I agree the listing can not be erased by the seller. I would go to the resolution center and try opening a case. If it is under 45 days it should show up there. If not I would use the contact eBay window and answer the questions so you get a PIN number and call them and explain. Unfortunately, sellers that are dishonest try to string you along until you receive the 45 day time limit. But I wouldn't give up just yet.

Thank you for the suggestions. It is a very small amount of money. $25. Not worth hassel, my time is worth more than that ;)) I just didn't want anyone else to have a negative experience with this seller and I knew a lot of ebayers check out RT.

It has been a very long time since I bought the item. Shipping took weeks, then I returned it and it took weeks for the seller to confirm he got it. The 45 days expired a few weeks ago while he was promising the refund "tomorrow tomorrow". And now its been over 60 days and I guess the listing is gone. I cannot find it in "my ebay". I did not know there was a time limit to leave feedback like that or I would have just left it earlier. But he kept promising the refund. He is still saying he will refund me "tomorrow".

That's unfortunate! Sorry you had a bad experience. Thank you for the warning, though.

I would still try to file a chargeback through Paypal or dispute or whatever. You never got a refund and you have documentation.

Hi,

What happens is the feedback mechanism expires after a certain time. it might be 60 days, so if you haven't left feedback by that time, you've lost the ability to leave any feedback.

Yes, you have 60 days from the end of the auction to leave feedback.

But it is a lesson learned. Thankfully for dreamer it was not a lot of money. But when a seller starts giving you excuse after excuse, after a reasonable amount of time, a buyer should open up a case with paypal. You have 45 days in which to do so. If within that time the seller does return your money on his own, you can always close it.

I agree that I should have opened a case, but the amount of money was small and at this point, the issue is not worth any more of my time. Anyways, good lesson learned, especially about the "60 days to leave feedback" rule, which I did not know about. But I hope others will not frequent this seller who is not trustworthy.

Yes, the seller can remove a listing after it has sold. It happened to me before in a similar situation. I was not happy.

I called ebay. They cannot change the system to let me leave feedback, but I reported him and they are goingto investigate. I would have acted differently if it had been more money, and from now on, if the 45 days is approaching and its not resolved I will open a case.
