Some people start out with a smaller stone from a vendor that allows upgrades and then for a future anniversary, they get a larger stone. In that case, you just get a simple setting and wait until you upgrade to get your final setting.
Sometimes there are good second hand options, too!

Anything that scores under 2 is worth a further look. Some that score under 3 may be worth a further look. Get
idealscope images of the stones and post them here.

If larger, you could drop the clarity to get larger. We can help with your budget!
We waited until we finished renovating our house and paid for the wedding, then I was able to relax, have a good idea of how many funds we could comfortable use towards the ring and then have fun buying it!AND I came in under budget with the ring and wedding ring together!

I would steer clear as DJU only sells clarity enhanced diamonds. Scroll down: http://www.diamondjewelryunited.com/the_4cs.php
If you are keen on purchasing from e-bay, I can personally recommend gemstoneking (http://diamonds.ebay.com) as I purchased a great stone at a great price from them. No images, but they have a 14-day, no questions asked, return policy.
Also, many PS'rs enjoy diamond hunting, so I would suggest posting your desired requirements and let PS point you in the right direction. Good luck, you won't regret the time to get educated before making a decision!

Thank you so much for your help. I am looking for 1.40 carat diamond. I know not in my budget but one daySomething 1ct and under is desirable. My setting would be simple because of my size 3 fingers. I ADORE Leon Mege's solitaire band but he is not within my price range but something along those lines. I wouldn't mind sacrificing clarity for something a little bigger.

I also want to say how kind of you to help me out in this way. It means so much to me as my FI (as wonderful as he is) has no clue.
Again thank you.

I had a horrible experience with them.

I just noticed GOG has this crazy 1.2 with the spread of a 1.4 - doesn't look like it's certed and the ASET isn't ideal, but GOG would be able to tell you more. It's an M color, too. However, if you really really want a big stone.... return policy on limited guarantee stones like this are only 10 days and on upgrade policy, though.

That could be an option Webdiva. I am still looking out and asking the FI.
I was wondering how you can help me with my condo situation? Need new floors, kitchen, bed and couch. I dream of a beautiful sectional.
Will be gone for 4 days for work. Will be back on Tuesday.
