eBay deal on Tiffany Engagement - ideas?

There are several options for a Tiffany reproduction ring. Mine is the Vatche U-113, and there are many jewelers around the country who sell that brand. If you buy your diamond from Good Old Gold or WhiteFlash, they both carry Vatche, and I think maybe High Performance Diamonds does, too. Caysie van Bebber and Maytal Hannah also make a good custom repro, but Vatche may be faster. Those are the classic Tiffany knife edge setting, though. I don't love the channel set band in the picture as much, and it would need to be very close to the correct ring size because I wouldn't risk sizing that band with channel set diamonds much at all (maybe a half size but I would only let Tiffany do it).

A 1.37 H VS1 top cut quality, hearts and arrows, AGS Ideal cut round is around $11,600

Often, Tiffany stones are NOT up to that level of cut quality, and you can get a GIA XXX 1.37 H VS1 for around $10k.

That setting would maybe cost around $1200-2500 to have it made.

Here is one from WhiteFlash that is very similar but the diamonds are beadset which I like better and the price is in the $1200 range (and I am sure they could make it in yellow gold):

So for a top quality diamond and a diamond Tiffany style setting, you are looking at around $12,900. So the ring on ebay is marked up a lot. Whether to go for it would depend on whether she'd rather have a real Tiffany ring that is second hand or a brand new ring, possibly with a better quality diamond, for less money (or a larger diamond!).

Oakgem and diamonddr16 both sell a good bit of Tiffany on ebay. Ebay has a lot of Tiffany listed, but I would only buy from a seller with excellent feedback and a history of selling high end jewelry like the ones mentioned.

Thank you for the great / excelent feebdack on the ring and what to lookout for. I have some things that I need to think about and now I have found a Tiffany 2.04 ct H VS2 XXX for less than $20k, so I think that is the one I am going to go for. My only problem is that it is a channel set in a size 4 and I need to resize it to a 6.5...ugh.
