I haven''t heard anyone ask you this question: are you sure she likes the Princess (square) shaped diamond? For myself, I''d be terribly disappointed if I were given one. Others here on this forum just love them. I''d say, just make sure she likes the shape you are thinking about buying. Yeah, we covered that a few post back . . . I overheard her say she liked princess cuts. I am sure that MM does good work, however there are a few closer (local) jewelers that I hope can satisfy my demands.
 
Has anyone suggested James Allen? They''re in the DC area and carry a signature line of princess cuts. I don''t know if they have an actual store to visit but it''s worth a call or email to find out.
