Hey guys!

Can you help me out with some earring setting ideas for these trilliant rhodolite garnets? I have never owned trilliant earrings, so not sure what to do. Should I just do a simple post so they sit on my lobe, or a slight dangle with a tiny diamond, or some other gemstone?? Any ideas?

Their dimensions are 6.83x6.74x3.90mm and 6.62x6.53x3.86mm

Pretty! I would make them dangle, so you get the benefit of the triangular shape and they don't spin around on your earlobes looking uneven.

i think so too, but not too long, i want to wear them lots! do you think it needs a diamond at the top, or could it all bbe chain?? am trying to find pics..

Little hearts bezel dangling, just feel they be more shape correlated than rounds, but if you wish i will made rounds on the top tomorrow.

you might try posting over in the color forum.....there are some who don''t follow the rocky talk thread who might have some ideas. personally, i like the trilliant on top with a diamond or pearl below. simple, classy, elegant, and ready to go.

Pricescope,

I am partial to color stones - your design is such a treasure

Thanks for the pic!
I think this is along the lines of what I want to do, but I may wait til I receive the stones to decide first! This will be exciting, my first internet jewlery puchase!

pricescope,
could you show me a small (tiny) round diamond with like 2 or 3 links holding it and the the garnet? I can''t find a pic like this either....

I am sorrbc you have done so many little pics for me recently with the other ring too, so if you are too busy don''t worry.. I will look more for a pic!

Sophie, don''t worry, it''s my pleasure.

Here is the one with round attached by 3 links to the bottom bar of your amethyst example. I have only added millgrain to the prongs, just to give it softer look.
I will try to make pictures to scale for you on someones borrowed ear.

Thank you again!! you are great!

I am sorry but I think I confused last time. THe two looks I am thinking of was just the simple change you made in the color of that setting,

OR

a tiny diamond on the ear, with 2 or 3 dangly rings and then the trillian....hope this makes sense! ps. I lov the milgraining too!

oh, the studs? no problem, prongs or bezel?

Why not small diamond studs and dangly earring jackets for the trills?

Here are a couple of other thoughts...findings from stuller: leverbacks with wee diamonds above the trills, or (I wonder) could one take these post earrings and replace the bottom diamonds with the trills?

ETA: Sorry these examples are in YG...but you get the idea..

Garnets made to scale to a ear, diamonds are approximately 20 pointers prong set.

wow those are great! I don''t know f I have a preference to prong set or bezel, but if I bezel I can add that milgrain too!

Widget,
Those are really nice, too!

i think I like that idea of the tiny diamond right above the trill, like the picture you posted on the left... The stones are being mailed on Saturday, so it shouldn''t be too long before I see them!!

Oh SOphie I really like that last mock up done by PS!

yeah, me too!!

I think they are still tasteful and simple enough to wear casually...

Wow, Irina, your photoshop skills are so illuminating! I love that example with the diamond stud and the garnet hanging from it.

(It IS Irina, right?)

Hey again guys!

So I already own princess studs and my mom has rounds (which I wear sometimes) so I was thinking about those "jackets" but there is one prob. I don''t exactly know what jackets are..haha

I am guessing it has a larger hoop so I can put the stud through it. Can someone educate me and tell me where I can get them?? Thanks!!

You got the idea of a jacket right Sophie, just make sure the back is secure enough for the extra weight of garnets.

I have one more suggestion for this kind of dedish - make garnets not a basket set like those amethyst but DBTY kind of bezel. In such setting garnets will look nice even when rotate, which is unavoidable.

Thank you all guys for the kind words, but really it''s not that hard ones you master basics of photoshop, i am glad to be able to help.

DiamondsByTheYard - Tiffany and Co branded chain design, i go look for picture explaining the concept, but basically it''s just a bezel around the girdle, nothing else.

I thought that was what you meant, thanks!

Did not find one with profile, so i made it up out of basket one on the top.
