Some of you have been very generous in time and spirit to respond to my posts this last year... I have had the same ring since our engagement back in 1999. I wore it 24/7 and eventually the platinum prongs began to show wear and it was recommended I replace the head. I began taking the ring off for sleeping, showers, dishes, etc. and babied it. I had the prongs tightened twice and DH and I decided instead of replacing the head, we'd do an entire reset for our October anniversary. On the Saturday before Father's Day, I was browsing ideas for the reset and as I was imagining "Hmm... a bezel with miligrain... how would my oval look in that?" And I looked down at my hand and the oval was GONE! A black hole. I couldn't believe it happened to *me*. Well, the hunt was on. My 10-year-old daughter found it within ten minutes near the baseboard on our cream tile floor. She was the hero! I put it in a sad little ziplock bag in my jewelry box, placed in the grading card for a little added dignity! I hemmed and hawed about tons of different settings (even entertained going the custom route with a SS-inspired leaf design), but DH and I ultimately liked the look of a thin pave band. I have always loved VC's Evelyn with that graceful arch up to the stone.

I decided to stay with the oval and not "trade up" (although our jeweler does have a generous trade-in policy). DH is sentimentally attached to the oval, and I have to say I do like how that shape looks on my finger! It feels great to have her back at home where she belongs. So here it is! I don't have the appraisal yet, it is coming this week. I will add that info when I get it.

Measurements: 7.69 x 5.65 x 3.42 mm
size 7.75 (larger than my finger size, since it will be worn at the top of the stack... also nice because then I can wear it on my right hand if I'd like!).

I have been playing around with my stack, and I'm not sure how I will ultimately wear it... but it sure is fun experimenting!

Lots of pics to come

More..

I tried to edit my first post to clarify that I was inspired to choose this setting based on how much I love VC's Evelyn... this setting was not done by Victor. I know the pros here knew that instantly, but I didn't want to mislead any of the newbies that may stumble upon this thread! My local jeweler in Chicago uses a company in California for this setting... the stamp inside said C.G and also the typical PT950.

Stack options... I would love opinions here!

Bead set plat band
Birks antique plat eternity
DZ sapph bezel (white gold)--I don't typically wear this as it was a Christmas present, not an anniversary present.

Really gorgeous reset! I love it!

Very pretty (and perfect) reset! Looks great on your hand. My personal fave is the second stacking photo with the 2 bands and ering on top =D

I am so happy this was the first reply... "elegant" was exactly the look I was going for with this setting! :appl: Thank you!

I had fun with the mini photo-shoot... but it wasn't nearly sunny enough this weekend when it was delivered! I just took these pics with my iPhone 5 (the first one). I am surprised myself at how clear and vivid they turn out sometimes. I like the profile shot where it shows the cutdown in the platinum, since I don't really see it IRL when it is against my bands. The e-ring setting is definitely a rounded comfort-fit band, so that also adds to the height of it (over and above being sized a quarter size up). I told my jeweler that my wrist had a cramp in it from staring at it, hah!
