But al lelse equal, this would be my choice because it is a little bigger than the I, but still in the near colorless range. It is likely to be a little less tinted than the K, though you could ask GOGs opinion on this (if a "high J" closer to an I it could be a really good option).

Dreamer_D,

Perhaps I am splitting hairs, and your advice on getting my girlfriend to pick is very wise. Unfortunately, this is not an option, as she knows nothing about this, and I intend to keep it a surprise. The best I can do at this point, is contact Jonathan at GOG and get a video made as you suggested.

Thank you so much for bringing sanity back to my world.

I would definitely ask them about the color, and see if they can get a video. Then you can pick the one that your eyes prefer!

Yes, and we could see the lovely video :naughty:

I get the desire for a surprise. But try to suss out how much you think *she* would be wood by size above other considerations. From the images, while warm, that K is really pretty and noticably larger than the I. If noticably larger than the J, given it is also over 1.5ct, THAT might be the most important thing to your gf! I just encourage you to make the choice based as much as possible on what she would like, not what you would like, since she is the wearer and there is nothing better than an extatically happy fiance!

I totally agree with Dreamer here BUT one of the good things about GOG is their return/exchange/upgrade policy, so in the small chance that she is not thrilled you would have an opportunity to change it!

my vote is still for the I, but I think I am more 'color sensitive' than most and to me that is already a great size.

Argh ... wrote a big long post and PS ate it ... yet again.

I like the I much better but the size of the K is so appealing. I personally find that the perfection of the AVC is better suited for the symmetry of a square shape. However, my recommendation is that you forgo the AVC (and associated premium) and look for a generic antique cushion. You will be able to better balance the price, size and color considerations. You will need to ask the vendors to look for you as the search engines are simply not ideal for finding the perfect cushion unless you fully understand what to look for. And even that ... many cushions never pop up in the search engines.

While GOG has an amazing upgrade and exchange policy, you may have to pay more for a setting if you decide to switch out.

Anyways, I have seen tons and tons of cushions in the past year. It has been an obsession which sort of explains why I have 2 cushion diamonds (AVC and modern 8 main) in addition to a ton of other cushion shaped stones.

For your reference..

I think ERD is offering cushions now that are antique style, under their own brand. Likely the ones they have offered for a while, the same ones Perry/Leon source, but maybe more specialized? I think Charmy's suggestion to call Mark and see what he can get you in that style is a good one. At least you will have a comparison.

Here is a thread with the brand name: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/1-8ct-old-mine-cushion-by-mark-chris-erd.160201/

I don't think they have any currently in your specs but maybe give them a call?
