I am narrowing down my choices and am leaning for something like attached. I think it is a Mercury ring, cathedral setting, in Platinum. It will have a 2 ct round diamond in it versus what the picture shows (1.25ct). The picture makes the prongs look bigger than actuality, but I need some opinions on it please. I like the low cathedral setting and how it is open on the front/back. I think I like this better than the basket or swooping prongs as I think it shows the diamond better and seems simpler.
I had also thought I wanted the band to be flush with the ring, but because of the low setting, the band would need to be slightly notched or be slightly curved. Not sure it really matters, but wanted to get some opinions about the band preference as well, as I suspect my girlfriend would wear just the band sometimes as she is very active outside. I had assumed a straight band would look better by it self, but the curved ones did not look that much different either. I have seen a precision ring that is similar, but didn’t like it as much, but the band would sit flush.
If you have any rings that are similar please let me know. Price is not an issue. My girlfriend does not wear a lot of jewelry and I want to keep it simple and classy.

Thank you!!!
