Hi all I’ve been trying to research if moissanite eternity bands are as durable as diamond bands . I have read that moissanite stones are brittle and smaller stones tend to crack easily .
Does anyone have any experience or advice to share ?
I am considering an emerald cut eternity band with 5x3mm moissanite .
Are these stones large enough to avoid cracking ?
Would appreciate any advice .
Thanks so much !

I had one for awhile, had no issues with it. Moissanite has a Mohs hardness of 9.25, harder than sapphire. I think if anything any cracking issues would be in the setting of the stones, not once it's set and you're wearing it.

Unfortunately the moh scale is not really "hardness" it is more "scratch resistance" in that it compares a gems ability to scratch another gem. It is also not linear. So there is still a huge difference between a 9.25 and a 10.

The positive is that if a stone does crack, its much cheaper to replace! Still a great option for a fraction of the diamond price.
