Huh, well if I ever have a piece of junk car sitting around I can''t get rid of, at least I''ll know I can make some dough off the catalytic converter, LOL! Now...to figure out where the heck it''s located, hee hee.

Yup. One of my bro-in-laws said that at his dealership, they had to replace the cat for a poor customer twice in like a month.

Yep, the metal in these things are crazy expensive. One of the professors at my university (I am an inorganic chemist) is researching making catalysts using vanadium instead (much cheaper, plus lower op temp).
