Oh my goodness, your diamond looks HUGE with or without a thin setting! I am a fan of modern settings as well and yours is the epitome of that sleek style. You listened to your heart when you picked it out. Now don''t let other people''s comments bother you. Everyone has their own idea of what they like and obviously, that setting was perfect for you (and your guy)! Love your ring!! It is truly stunning!

WOW! Your ring is awsome! I suspect it is hard for some ladies when they see a ring that looks so wonderful and full of fire and it looks like it is alive. Perhaps you just got a bigger or nicer ring than this other person has or was planning on getting. Everyone here has told you how wonderful your diamond and setting is and these people know diamonds, the next time a so-called friend gives you a neggative comment I think it is safe to say you just recieved a compliment.

Triple that is a wonderful to think about this! I hate to say it, but I think this *person* is what pop culture calls a "frenemy"! I''m feeling less hurt by this person''s comments as I realize it may have just come out of spite.

And you all certainly do know your diamonds! ^_^ Which is why I''m ending my weekend on a high note now with all your wonderful comments.

Lily, I, too, think your ring is beautiful! I wanted to make a comment regarding your wedding band comments on your other thread. Why not get two bands....one plain one that matches your fiance''s and a thin diamond one to wear with the e-ring! It''s always nice to have a plain band to wear when you don''t want to wear your diamond. But I agree with you that a little sparkly band would really compliment your e-ring!

Thank you for the compliments--it means so much since I love your set so much too.

I LOVE your idea for the bands. I guess I don''t think outside the box much--2 bands is a great idea. I''m going to suggest it to my fiance when I talk to him tonight. It''s a great way to compromise and easier than going to get a set of bands custom made (the comfort fit bands don''t seem to quite *match* my e-ring. Weird but true).

I''m glad you decided to ignore that horrible comment, because your ring really is stunning. Sometimes people hear one thing about rings and then repeat it over and over like it''s the gospel and everyone should abide. The fact is that we all have different tastes, and different rings look best on our fingers. Stay confident! And more pics please!!!!!

BigDiamonds I think you may regret asking for more pics. I have 28 sparklers on my digital camera that are being resized by FI now. He''s glaring at me because he thinks I''ve gone off the deep end. He''s positive the moderators will come and eat me for the pic spam.

(Is there a limit on photos for SMTR??)

They will hopefully be up tomorrow!!

There is NO limit on pics! Bring ''em on!

Your ring looks gorgeous, huge and classy - and speaking of classy, I gotta tell you that ANYONE with real class would NEVER make a negative comment about a person''s engagement ring - that''s so tacky!
Don''t give it a second thought!!!!!!
