First, I've got to thank Bob Hoskins at Whiteflash for putting up with me (and also thanks to whoever else at Whiteflash answered my many, many, pestering phone calls). I'm sure I gave Bob more than a few heart attacks over the past few months:

I didn't want one after all
I wanted a round brilliant now
There was no perfect stone out there for me
I wanted to find an unbranded hearts and arrows stone
No - I wanted to buy a so-so stone and have it re-cut
No - I wanted Brian to buy a rough for me and have it custom cut
No - I'll take the beauty that's been sitting in front of my nose all along ...

That stone is magnificent! I LOVE the WF pictures on the side view, that thing looks so top heavy.

Awww, you guys are so nice

The ring survived dinner with my kids (it turned out to be pizza not mac and cheese), but now they are finally in bed and they have worn me down to a nub. My five month old is still waking me a couple of times a night, so I MUST SLEEP

while I can. I''ll do hand pics tomorrow. No light left here anyway. Also, it gives me a chance to get a manicure first

Seriously, I''ve been on a few bulletin boards and you guys are the most supportive, informed, helpful, funny, polite and wacky bunch I''ve ever run across. I''m just SO glad I found you all to learn from and share my hobby with (which has now taken on obsession-like qualities) before I went out and bought a piece of dried monkey spit. And, for the occassional snafu, thank you Leonid for maintaining just the right tone as a moderator.

Mara - no bigger story really. DH and I have been married for 8 years and this is the year we finally decided to do it up! When I sent back the asscher I tried to reinvent the wheel, before I just used some common sense and bought this one (I swear if I could make a grown man cry I thought I mighta heard Bob sob once or twice when he was dealing with me
