I would love your opinion on an Old European Diamond Ring. I do not know how to post just the photo. Any of you have an ebay auction up so I could email it to you? There is only one photo and he will not send anymore. So it will be a challenge. I have purchased from him before and it is just his way. But he does have an excellent return policy. I think it might be even more carat weight than he states. It could be the best deal or a dud, so your help would be greatly appreciated.

This sounds exciting :rodent: I'm not an OEC expert, at least not at judging pics. But if you want an extra non-expert opinion, I can be found through Loupe Troop. Otherwise, I'll be following your thread with some curiosity. I hope you found something awesome!

You should be able to save the photo from the e-mail to your computer then post the photo from your computer to here.

Thank you, Gemfever. I am not signed up with DB or LT, just ebay. Libby, it is only one photo on the auction itself. Not that I am not flattered, but the last 3 auction items I posted ended up being sold.

Signing up for LT is super easy and free. It's just an easier way to contact PSers than ebay, I think. In any case, I hope you can get some good feedback on your find!

Ruby,

Try right-clicking on the photo and saving it to your computer. If that doesn't work, you should be able to find some sort of free screen capture software, take a screen cap, and post the photo. Sorry, I thought it was an e-mail photo. You can post the photo without posting a link to the auction.

Not sure if it is a security thing with ebay or Pricescope, or I just do not have a clue, but I cannot get the photo to cut and paste. I got it to highlight and then I pressed cut, but when I bring it here and hit paste, nothing shows up.

Take a screen shot or use the snipping tool in Windows.

Open the window with the largest image you can get (click it to open or whatever you need to do).

On your keyboard, click and hold down ctrl, alt, and the button that says "print screen" (usually near the top right).

Open Paint or similar. Right click the mouse and select "paste".

Should be your whole screen there including the photo. Then crop, save, and upload here.

I don't sell on ebay so can't help there.

Dreamer, thank G-d. I do not have a clue what you and the last poster are telling me. My computer skills are comical to say the least. I have seen you on LT. If I can figure out how to sign up over there, would you mind if I sent you an email?

Ruby,

You can't paste a photo here. You have to save it to your computer so it's a file on your computer, then upload it the usual way.

As Dreamer_D says, view the largest version of the photo that you can. Right click on it. You should have some choice like "Save image as" or some such. Save it somewhere on your hard drive where you can find it, with a name that makes sense to you. Then upload that file as an attachment as you would any other photo.

Yes, you can e-mail me and I will post the photo here so we can discuss it.

I sent you an email through LT, Dreamer.

Bump

Everyone, anyone, someone - HELP! Please.

I'm waiting to see the picture. I dont have an LT account but I do have a DB account if you want to email me there.

ruby, I'd be glad to help if you want to contact me through LT. I could post the pic here for discussion as Dreamer suggested.

Gemfever, thank you so much. I now have an LT account, but not DB. I will send you an email.

Edited to add: Gemfever, what auction do you have on LT so I can find you?

And thank you, too, Fortekitty. I was hoping Gemfever, if she has a DB acount, could then forward it to you.

Ruby, here's a link. This item is already sold, so hopefully it's ok that I'm posting it here.

Why don't you create a DB account? It only takes a minute and it doesn't cost any money. You seem to be in a rush but have already wasted a day because you wont sign up for an account.

Gemfever, I sent you email.

Fortekitty, I tried signing up for a DB account in the past, and it did not work for some reason. Kept telling me to fill in certain fields that were already done. Just kept going in a loop. So that is why I do not have a DB account. LT was easy, and fast, I must say.

Ruby, I got your message and forwarded. Also responded. Cheers!

I sent my response to Gemfever and she's sending to you!

Thank you so much to both of you.

I di not receive any e-mails about this through LT. I actually do not have anything for sale there so maybe you contacted a random person

If someone posts the photo here I will comment. Or FK or Gem can forward me the information.

Seen it now. I love that one. The mount! I mean, a singlestone repro is in the $5k to $6k range I think :read: There is good value there. I would ask for millimeter measurements to get a concrete sense of spread/weight. And also would ask about inclusions because I think I see something in the pics. It may not matter to you though! I don't care much about inclusions anymore if I cannot see them with my eyes. If as described in terms of weight the price is great. Worth a lookie.

I am uber jelous if you get it. I want it.

Dreamer, I am glad you found it. I was beginning to think I might have sent it to gypsy by mistake.

I am waffling back and forth. I got really nice replies from Gemfever and Fortekitty. They feel that the photo has been doctored, so it might not show real color. And hence the problem - he will not send anymore for whatever reason. Did not answer my questions about dimensions either. Just said take it home, and if you do not like it send it back.

GF and FK also questioned the size of the stones because I had thought he underestimated total size. They bring up some good points - the big one being I do not like when photos are doctored. And now you are saying you see inclusions, so could they really be VS stones?

Still trying to decide if I want to go through all the trouble when there are so many unanswered questions that he will not address.

I think that's the style of all his photos, from my experience. I think if you can, you should take a look. Some things are not worth the shipping and the headache, but this seems unique enough to consider. That is, if this is a style you've been wanting for a long time. If I wanted something in this style and price range, I'd be all over it. Hmm... something else I wanted to add -- oh yes, the weight... I'm guessing it's right about as stated. But in a piece like this I don't think a little extra weight should make or break the deal. The question is whether this is perfect for you as a whole piece, and of course the performance of the stone (which you'd have to evaluate with your own eyes, since there are no extra pics).

Those are all the uncertainties you accept if you want to pay less than retail ;))

I agree with everything Gemfever just wrote.

I never got a message from you on LT. Gemfever forwarded me the information.
