Dream Colored Gemstone

Color is everything when it comes to gems, if you could have any colored gemstone in the world, what would it be? For me I would no doubt pick a big, clean Red Diamond. It's the color of a perfect ruby but with better clarity and brilliance. What's your pick?

At the moment I'd probably want a large, eye clean bixbite (red beryl).

Or a large FCD of a few cts. I'd have to think about what colour but probably red or green.

Or the aforementioned cobalt spinel.

Yeah, I'm not very decisive about these things. Well, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it

I've seen a couple of large ones with my own eyes, but never over 10 ct.
No pictures can do these stones justice, they are something you need to see in person. The color is just mind-blowing, incredibly luminous and vivid.

I wanted to focus on the big 4 Emerald, ruby, sapphire, and diamonds but there is a limit as to how many options you can have Some stunning paraiba tourmaline, some world class spinels and some of the real top quality spessartine would have made the list if I could have. Also, opals; which I believe are the most underated gemstone.

That's not really a cobalt spinel. Many dealers use the term "cobalt blue spinel" to make you think it contains cobalt, but it has to say "cobalt spinel," not "cobalt blue spinel."

Oh okay, I see Cobalt referring to Cobalt being present in the gem not just similar bluish coloration.

I don't think the blue colouration is anywhere close enough for me to consider the two as similar. Furthermore, the 84 ct blue spinel has been examined by SSEF and has proper paperwork.
