No Lynn, I haven''t really lookedat whiteflash.... If could tell me of a 2 carrat diamond that you recommend with a 10 k budget at these stores, let me know.

I finally received the IS image for 2 carrat J SI, Attached is the picture, let me know how you guys would score it?

Thanks.

It looks good joey. Might be a tad tilted, causing a lighter portion. But either way, for what you are looking for, it's a good IS. It should be a nice looking diamond.

Ditto. Should be good.

Joey,

I did a real quick search and didn''t find much in that size (2 carat) for that money ($10K)... but honestly, I''m not surprised, that''s a pretty narrow parameter.

If you are willing to look a little smaller (in the 1.75''ish range) I think you could find some nice choices about anywhere.

ALSO, it never hurts to contact each vendor and ASK them for what you are looking for. They get stuff in all the time that they haven''t had a chance to put on their website yet, etc.

Even though I don''t love JA''s trade-up policy, I would buy from there before I bought from BN or Abazias, but that''s just me... and for my personal reasons as I stated in the earlier post.

joey, I had a look around at other (smaller) options, with vendors whose upgrade policies are much more lenient. Here''s a couple I found. As before, would need to check for eyecleanliness, and if any inclusions are hampering light return/pose a problem.

http://www.whiteflash.com/round/Round-cut-diamond-2181555.htm# (would get a 2% PS discount off listed price)

http://goodoldgold.com/diamond/5839/ (just 167.00 over budget with bankwire)

Just thought I''d throw these out.

Thanks again guys. Ok, I think I made up my mind. I need your final call to give me a green light to buy this stone or perhaps a red one to not buy the stone. Just heard back from JA about the folllowing:

They sent me an IS image. I need your help to tell me if this attached IS image is better than the above one. Please let me know if the price is good at $6200 for that stone or I could find a better one.
I''m not worried about an upgrade policy cause I could later turn this stone into a necklace.
Please let me know asap.

Thanks a bunch

Nice image!
Ditto, but what are the rest of the stats on it? And what's wrong with the other one?

I had Juliana at JA look at them side by side and she concluded that the 1.52 J S1 has a much better quality cut compared to the 2 carrat J S1. They both apparently look white.

I''m thinking to go with that setting that Ellen recommended a while back:

http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/settings-with-sidestones/ring/item_58-2807.asp?module=

I want to pick the white gold option along with 6 prongs instead of 4. They told since I''m choosing a 1.52 carrat stone, it would require more support.

Let me know what you guys think, I want to place my order today.

Thanks,

Joey

Ok, in that case, definitely go with the one that''s better cut!

As for the number of prongs, I''m a bit perplexed. I have a 1.40 in 4 WG prongs, for 3+ years now, no problems. And I know many others who put larger stones in 4 prongs with no problems. IF the setting is well made, it "shouldn''t" be a problem. However, I cannot speak to the quality of JA''s settings, so, maybe you should go with the 6. Not sure what to tell you on that.
