The owner had noted that it was a top SI2 and the jeweler will be getting it tomorrow. He then can run a SARIN report on it if I wanted to(should I even bother since its definately not an ideal cut?) Also, I saw this diamond listed at another site for 2200 but found this exact same diamond here for 1800. It had the same numbers and everything. Seemed weird to me actually. Ok, I''m done. . .now I need to listen to everyone

#1 looks like a beautiful diamond. Whiteflash has a good reputation for beautiful stones, so the probablility that it is what they say it is is high. They also give a Pricescope discount if you ask for it, so that might help a little.

You may as well get the sarin info on #2, as it is $360 less. Get details on the inclusions from the vendor and magnified pics if possible.

#3 sounds ok but a long shot. You don't have enough info. Get the sarin info and plug the numbers into the HCA and see if it is one of those non-ideal beauties. You won't know without crown and pavilion angles.

#4? (I think this is a 4th stone?) Many vendors offer stones from lists, so you will see the same stone listed by multiple vendors many times. In such a case, you are best off dealing with a vendor who will bring the stone in house for them to evaluate before sending it to you. Most, but not all will price match or get close at least.

edited to put the comments with the right stones -- brain flub the first time....and to say: the safe bet is the first one. If you can afford the price difference, it is the way I would go.

although #1 is more expensive, id go for that one. if its a whiteflash stone, id trust what their eyes are telling you. the numbers look great, and im sure you have the idealscope image to back it up. the other two were cheapers but was not impressed with either of them. they may be very nice looking stones however, you need to get more information on them to make a good decision.
good luck!

Just to clarify, the GIA that is on the post goes with the 2nd diamond. There is no 4th stone. . .I was just saying that the 3rd stone I had seen in multiple places. . .he is getting the stone in tomorrow.

ok -- I was confused

. sorry.

The first still looks great. The second could be nice, but you need more cut info and need to understand the inclusions. Since you have 2 contenders, I'd probably skip the 3rd unless the first 2 don't pan out.

UPDATE!!

Here is the information for the second diamond.

How do I resize these pics. ..they're HUGE

You need to use a photo editor to resize the pic before posting.

This looks like a really nice stone. The crown and pav angles are right in the sweet spot. However, I would still find out about the type, color and location of the inclusions. Eye-clean means different things to different people. There have been some unhappy people letely due to their inclusions. Then there are other very happy SI1 and SI2 owners. See if you can get some magnified pics and an idealscope pic, but it looks really promising.

I would go either with #1 or #2. A part of me says 'go with #1' because it's larger and it's an SI 1. Many (NOT all) SI 2's are eye-clean at first glance, but inclusions can be found if the stone is scrutinized closely. I guess it's up to your girl... Do you think she could be bothered by a very small speck in the stone, which she might notice after, let's say one or two years?? Just a thought. On the other hand, though, some SI 2's are completely eye-clean and have tiny and subtle inclusions, maybe in 'prongable' positions. I think a magnified pic (both of the 0.80 I/SI 1 and 0.75 I/SI 2) could help you making up your mind, in this case.

yes, the numbers look preetty good for the second stone...definitely a condender.. however, as giangi mentioned..SI2 stones can be tricky..and although they say its eye clean, i would ask for pics and plots and what kind of inclusion, and where. Its pretty tough to find nice eye clean SI2 stones..although i know they are out there. #1 is still a little larger too, with nice numbers and its an SI1 (same applies for the inclusions)..so #1 and then #2 for me....

Well. . .am I nuts? I think I really like #3 more than the other two for the following reasons:
1) It is a color G instead of I
2) It scored a 1.9 on the HCA test
3) The setting he can make me will be over 500 less than any of the other options since I just want white gold and everyone else can only do it in platinum.

Am I completely nuts?

White Flash is an amazing company to work with and I would trust them 100%. That being said, you need to go with the stone that's calling to you. Did you get the Sarin info on the third stone?

He did run a Sarin test on the stone. . .however I have misplaced the information on it. . .I do know that it got a 1.9 score on the HCA. I am actually getting happier and happier with the service that i have gotten so far from him. It is on engagement rings direct. He's going to find me the setting tomorrow and then we'll work out final details if I like what he finds/makes.

If you're feeling like that's the one, it sounds like you have found it! Although I'm not an expert in rounds, the specs you provided don't send up any red flags, and actually all look green

Sorry, couldn't resist. As for the diamond, I think you made the best choice for what you were looking for.
