Hi everyone,

I''m on the verge of finally choosing a diamond for an engagement ring, and would like to enlist your expert opinions on which to choose. I''ve narrowed the search down to 2, both from hpdiamonds.com:
* 1.41 ct (I, HCA 1.1): http://highperformancediamonds.com/index.php?page=view-id-diamond-infinity&id=532
* 1.55 ct (J, HCA 1.4): http://highperformancediamonds.com/index.php?page=view-id-diamond-infinity&id=707

Both are "superideal" cut, VS2, with ideal/ideal polish/symmetry, and within $100 of each other.

One thing of note is that the 1.55 ct has strong blue fluorescence, and Wink has assured me it is not cloudy. I kinda like what fluorescence does to a diamond, and I think my gf does too. Wink was also kind enough to make a video comparing these 2 diamonds (from left to right: 1.30 ct, 1.41 ct, and 1.55 ct):

I have 2 pressing questions before I can decide:
1. Which diamond would you choose?
2. Would these look ok on a size 5-6 finger?

Thanks so much for your help!

Really can not go wrong here with either option (I can''t view the video on the computer I happen to be on).
If you like the idea of SB then that makes your choice easier. Perhaps the blue makes the J look whiter?
Otherwise, you trade 0.1mm in size (negligable IMO) for a color grade. Youare comparing I to J, can it be assumed you are looking for a stone with a little warmth?
If so, then it would appear to me your decision is between having SB or no flour.

Good post! And nothing to add.
