Double your Pleasure, Double the Fun

I had the tanzanite ring from before, but since I liked the style so much, I had another one made but with a pink sapphire instead. Had them go through an entire parcel of loose stones to get the one I wanted with just the right color.

These are 8 x 6 mm calibrated stones but since they have different Specific Gravities,
the tanz (SG = 3.35) is 1.23 ct, and the pink sapphire (SG = 4.00) is 1.68 ct.

They are small

but relatively inexpensive too,

a lot less than my Richard Homer cut blue sapphire.

This one is presumed heat treated. For that matter, the tanz is heat treated too.

gorgeous cflutist....the colors are amazing! Can you also tell us about the settings? How does the profile look? I have an 8x8mm blue topaz that I would like to put in a similar setting.

Oooh! I love those! The color is just great, especially in the sapphire! My great-grandmother had something similar made for my mom and her cousin when they were both 16. One got a ring with a ruby and one got a blue sapphire. They still have them to this day. Such a fantastic idea!

Thanks for the compliment velouriaL. As I said earlier, I had them go through an entire parcel of stones to find the highly prized deep pink with vivid saturation. Many of the pink sapphires you see are too pale in color.

I wear my larger bracelet mostly alone, but do wear it everyday.
In fact, it stays on even in the shower and comes off only for cleaning
(about once a month).

I wear both bracelets is when:
1 - playing in an orchestra concert
2 - on a cruise
3 - going out to a social event
4 - when I am stressed at work

LOL, I assume you are not asking about wearing the tanz and pink sapphire together?
